How LGBT athletes react to a controversial new anti-discrimination law

The law passed by the Texas House and Senate has sparked controversy.

The Dallas Morning News via AP 2:09This year, the NFL announced it was removing from its league website a section of its website that included information on a bill that would allow people with a “religious belief” to cite their religious beliefs as a defense to a charge of a hate crime.

The bill has been called “anti-gay” and a “threat to civil rights.”

The bill passed by Texas in 2017 would have prohibited local governments from enacting their own hate crime laws.

The Associated Press 3:24After the Dallas vote, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell announced that he would be stepping down in 2019.

He also said he would not stand for the position of U.S. attorney general.

He called the vote a “mistake.”
