The first VR arcade in Japan has opened its doors to the public.

The concept has been developed by Japan Tourism agency and the arcade has been named Takuzato-Tetsu.
“This is the first time we have opened a virtual arcade in the country,” said Kazuo Kato, general manager at TakuZak.
“The idea is to show that Japan has developed virtual worlds that are not only for gaming, but also for entertainment.”
The arcade will have an arcade game room with a traditional gaming table and a room for the virtual experience.
“It will be the same experience that people enjoy in traditional arcades, so this will be like playing a regular game,” Mr Kato said.
“We will also have a virtual room for you to hang out and enjoy your own experiences with virtual people.”
Virtual reality is becoming more popular in Japan, with a recent report showing that more than 80 per cent of Japanese households are using VR headsets.
“People are spending money online and in the virtual world, so it’s important to open the virtual space,” Mr Sato said of the virtual arcade.
“If you want to learn how to use a VR device, it’s easy to find information about the technology online.”
