Kim Jong Un’s eldest son is apparently a fan of The Little Mermaid and is planning to make the film based on his love story, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The 33-year-old actor, known for his role as the charismatic prince Mulan in Disney’s animated movie, was spotted on Saturday during a shoot at his family’s sprawling estate in the mountains of North Korea.
The actor, who has not been seen in public since 2014, has been seen wearing a gold-rimmed hat and carrying a bag filled with toys and other goodies.
He also has a red, black and white striped shirt emblazoned with the words “Love Song for the Little Mermaid.”
It’s unclear what role Mulan will play in the film.
It’s believed he has yet to be formally assigned the role, but Disney has said the film will explore the relationship between Mulan and the prince.
Disney is reportedly set to release the film in 2018.
The film is currently shooting in Thailand and China.
The Little Mermaid was released in 1989 and spawned two sequels.
